Gloria Ortiz Miluy
Gloria Ortiz Miluy, RN, MS, PhD, was born in 1983 in Algeciras (Spain), she lives in Madrid (Spain), where she has been working as a nurse at the Fundación Jiménez Díaz since 2010.
She obtained her Nursing degree in 2004, and immediately she started working with vascular access in paediatric area for 3 years, in Rome, Italy. In this city, she is been working for 6 years, the last 3 years being part of Dr. Pittiruti’s vascular access team at the Catholic University Hospital.
She finished her master program in vascular access in the same University on 2007 and her Teaching, Researching and Administration Degree at the La Sapienza University (Rome, Italy) on 2010.
That year she decided to come back to Spain and to start her own Vascular Access Team. She is now the coordinator as well as an active nurse of the vascular access team at the Spanish Hospital where she works. She is sub-director of the first master degree in Spain regarding Vascular Access, by Autónoma University of Madrid.
She obtained her PAN (PICC Academy Network) certified on September 2013, being the first Spanish nurse with this diploma.
In 2015, she created together with Paloma Ruiz Hernández the first Spanish multidisciplinary group for vascular access, called GruMAV.
She is an active GAVeCeLT member. She is also part of the Global and Scientific Comitee for WoCoVA.
In general lines, she is focusing her work on improving the national panorama in vascular access and enforcing networking with other countries around the world.
