Since 2001, Christian Dupont, RN, has been a nurse coordinator in the pulmonary department in Paris at Cochin University Hospital (Assistance Publique – Hôpitaux de Paris, AP-HP). Previously, he worked in oncology, hematology and infectious diseases, over a ten year period.
He has been involved in the daily management of peripheral catheters, PICC lines and Ports for patients suffering from cystic fibrosis, bronchiectasis and lung cancer who are treated at home and in hospital. His activity also includes clinical research and training hospital nurses, private homecare nurses and nursing students.
Since January 2014, he co-chaired the Multidisciplinary Francophone Congress for Venous Catheters.
He is one of the founding members of the French vascular access society, the GIFAV (Groupe Interdisciplinaire pour les Abords Vasculaires) which he has been the president since 2019.
